Enjoy access to Stone Mountain Park public areas including picnic areas, hiking and nature trails, children's playground, walk-up trail, Quarry Exhibit, the Historical & Environmental Education Center and the Lasershow Spectacular (select nights).

Stone Mountain Park is happy to welcome ride-share vehicles, taxi cabs, and limousines into the park. Those drivers are required to pay $5 to enter the park for pick-ups and drop-offs.

Get outside with REI in the East Lake area of Stone Mountain Park. Join REI Outdoor School instructors for classes, outings, and stand up paddleboard, canoe and kayak rentals.

Triangle Picnic Area

The Triangle Picnic Area is located on Robert E. Lee Blvd. and is the closest public picnic area to the Crossroads area. Public use tables are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Walk-Up Trail to Top of Stone Mountain

While on top, 1,683 feet above sea level, enjoy amazing views of downtown Atlanta, the North Georgia mountains and the surrounding area. On a haze-free day, you can see 60 miles from the mountain.

Walk, Jog or Bike

Walkers, joggers, and bicyclists can circle the mountain on Robert E. Lee Boulevard, a 5 mile loop. Motor vehicle traffic is one-way between Confederate Hall and the Grist Mill so you can enjoy wide dedicated lanes for jogging and biking.

Studdard Picnic Area

Enjoy a family picnic in a beautiful wooded area near the mountain. Public use tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Public use grills are also available to be shared by several groups.

History & Nature (1)

Grist Mill

In 1965, this century-old mill was moved to the Park from its original site near Ellijay, GA. One of the most picturesque spots in the Park, it makes a great place for picnics. The Grist Mill is located on Robert E. Lee Blvd. on the east side of the mountain. Parking is available across the street.

The Historic Square at Stone Mountain Park is a collection of original buildings from around the State of Georgia, built between 1793 and 1875. Each structure was moved from its original site and carefully restored to preserve its authenticity and historical value.

  • Parking Information

    Parking is not included in the price of rentals.

    • Daily parking is $20 per car
    • Annual Parking Passes are $40 per car

  • What is the parking fee to enter the Park? Is this fee "per vehicle" or "per person"? What does...

    Visit the Parking Information page for answers to each of the above questions.

  • Do I still have to pay for parking?

    Yes. All waterfront customers will need to pay for a daily or annual parking pass to enter the Park.

  • How much is parking?

    Buses/motor coaches traveling with a group with pre-paid tickets must present a final booking confirmation showing payment has been made to have the parking permit fee waived. If the final booking confirmation is not presented, $20 fee will be charged. Public/private schools or government buses with a permanent logo or name printed on the vehicle will have parking permit fee waived.

    Personal or private vehicles traveling with a school or tour group are required to purchase a daily parking permit  ($20 per vehicle) or have an annual parking pass. This includes chaperone vehicles.

  • How do I replace my parking permit?

    Parking Permits will be replaced at a charge of $25.00 if at least half of the old pass with the month shown can be removed from the window and returned to us. If this cannot be accomplished, replacement parking permits will be $40 each. These may be purchased at the Entrance Gates to the Park or at the Main Ticket Plaza.

  • Do you have handicap parking?

    Yes, but it is on a first come – first serve basis.

  • Do you have handicap parking?

  • Do you provide shuttles from the parking lots within the park?

    Depending on traffic flow and where you are directed to park, select lots do have a shuttle but due to peak traffic travel times not all parking lots have an assigned shuttle.

  • Do I have to pay for parking each time I go in and out of the Park?

    No. Once you pay the parking fee to enter the Park, you will be given a dated voucher for the windshield of your vehicle that will give you unlimited access to enter and leave the Park as often as you like during your stay.  

  • Do you provide shuttles from the parking lots within the park?

    Transportation and Parking for Summer at the Rock
    Upon entry of the park, you will purchase a daily parking pass ($20) or annual parking pass ($40). Once inside the gates, proceed to the Crossroads Parking Lot, directly in front of the main attractions entrance, or to the Summit Skyride Parking Lot off of Robert E. Lee Blvd. Available for purchase at the park entrance gates, a Preferred Parking Pass offers front-of-the-lot parking privileges in the Crossroads Parking Lot.

After a day of fun at our attractions, stay a little longer to take in this one-of-a-kind show. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers, and lay back to marvel at the skies.

    Each RV Rental is equipped with the following:

  • Can I leave and return to the Park on the same day without having to pay the parking fee again?

    Purchasing a daily parking permit allows you entry and exit for the entire day, but does not guarantee re-entry. Please be aware that re-entry may be difficult on busy days, holidays or during large events. Free re-entry is not permitted during the Fantastic Fourth Celebration or Yellow Daisy Festival

  • How much is the Lasershow?

    Seating on the lawn is free with your paid parking, but the show can also be enjoyed from the comfort of a reserved snack terrace seat each day of the celebration excluding the 4th.

  • Do you have a playground at the Park?

    Yes. The playground is located on Robert E. Lee Blvd approximately 3/4 mile past the West Gate of the Park. Use of the playground is free with your paid parking admission.

  • How much is the Lasershow?

    Seating on the lawn is free with your paid parking, but the show can also be enjoyed from the comfort of a reserved snack terrace seat each day of the celebration excluding the 4th.

  • What is the Safari Tent Rental equipped with?

    Each Safari Tent Rental is equipped with the following:

    Alcohol can be brought to the Park, but is not permitted on streets, in parking lots, or other posted areas. Those other areas include, but are not limited to, attractions, the lawn/Lasershow, Pavilions, the Special Events Meadow and the Walk-Up Trail. No glass containers are allowed.

    As a member of the Historical Educator group, the member may visit any of the educational venues listed below as often as they like during the calendar year. They will also receive complimentary parking. Members may also bring one teaching colleague along as their guest. The member and their guest must present a valid ID and the membership card at each venue.

    There are always things to do in Atlanta over the summer, but don’t miss Stone Mountain Park’s second annual Festival Under the Magnolias! This one-day festival brings together local crafters, jewelers, and artists who proudly put their work on display for you to admire and purchase. You can also sample made-from-scratch food from food trucks, enjoy wine tasting, and watch live demonstrations.

    Enter John B Gordon Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 into your favorite GPS, or make your way to the park and follow the signs to Historic Square. No GPS? No problem. Once inside the gates, proceed to the beautiful Historic Square. Park in the Azalea Parking Lot off John B. Gordon Drive, right near Maddox General Store.

    For parents exploring things to do in Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park offers a wide range of attractions, activities, and entertainment for the whole family. If you have a toddler or two, it’s important to know where you can find all the kid-friendly fun. That’s why we’ve compiled this list of toddler-friendly activities you can enjoy all within the Park*!

    Attractions for Toddlers at Stone Mountain Park

    Camp Highland

    Experience the perfect outdoor challenge for your little ones. With a low ropes course and multiple line bridges, they'll feel just as brave as the big kids! Camp Highland is located inside the SkyHike® family adventure course complex. Close-toed shoes are required.

    Dinosaur Explore and Dinotorium

    Bring your budding dino rangers to a walk-thru experience with twenty life-sized roaring dinosaurs! After you pose for a picture with their favorite dino, stop by the Dinotorium, an indoor play space where you’ll find huge slides, trampoline floors, climbing structures, and over 65 interactive games. Hurry—dinos go extinct after November 4!

    Summit Skyride

    Open daily from 10 A.M. – 5 P.M., the famous SkyRide is the rock’s top attraction. The high-speed, Swiss cable car offers breathtaking views of the mountain and the city of Atlanta. Your toddler will love the exhilarating 800-foot-high ride to the top!

    Lasershow Spectacular

    Saturdays thru October 19
    This Atlanta tradition is sure to spark the imagination of your kiddo. With state-of-the-art graphics, lasers, and music, our Lasershow provides entertainment for the whole family. You can bring your own blanket for seating, or reserve a terrace spot with snacks for an all-inclusive experience.

    Farmyard

    Stop by the farmyard to get up close with sheep, pigs and trick-performing goats! You’re toddlers will love petting our furry friends and you're guaranteed to laugh and marvel at our goats’ skills!

    Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf

    Nothing says fun like a miniature golf course. Our course is based on the real-life adventures of The Great Locomotive Chase that took place during the American Civil War. Make your way through 18 holes in pursuit of the stolen General locomotive!

    Scenic Railroad

    Take a five-mile excursion around the mountain when you and your family can ride our full-size 1940's locomotives with open-air cars. Trips take about thirty minutes, so climb aboard to make some family memories! 

    4-D Theater

    Venture indoors for an immersive cinematic experience your little one is sure to enjoy. Feel the action on the screen with wind and rain effects, rumbling seats and more!
