Stone Mountain Park Campground Frequently Asked Questions


All cancellations must be submitted in writing by fax: 770-413-5082 or email:

  • Cancellations 5 days or more before the scheduled arrival date will receive a refund of their deposit less a $20 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations 5 days or less before the scheduled arrival forfeit deposit (Prepaid Packages, Yurts, and RV Rentals will also incur a $100 cancellation fee).
  • Cancellations have a one-time option of moving their dates without penalty. A second move of dates will incur a $15 move fee. Only two date moves allowed. Reservations that have moved dates, then canceled, will forfeit entire original deposit.


CHECK-IN TIME: 2:00 PM or later. Early check-in may be available for regular sites only. No early check-ins for Yurts, Rental Trailers or Safari Tents.

CHECK-OUT TIME: 12:00 PM for RV, Pop-up and Tent sites. 11:00 AM for Yurts, Rental Trailers, & Safari Tents.

NO REFUNDS: If you leave earlier than your scheduled departure date, no refund will be issued.

After-office hours registration is available. The Night Registration area is located just outside the Campground office. Reserved (unavailable) sites are posted. Any site listed as being available for use is available for "walk ins" only and available for one night.  All required paperwork must be completed before going to your site. Every effort should be made to arrive at the Campground and set up on a camp site before 11:00 pm.  After 11:00 pm, only campers with confirmed reservations will be allowed to enter the Park for Night Registration. Tent campers are not allowed into the Park after midnight unless they have a reservation.

If you decide to leave before your scheduled departure date, we will provide you with a "RAIN CHECK" for the unused days.  These “Rain Checks” are valid for one year - there are "NO refunds" for unused days. “RAIN CHECKS” are not issued on major Holidays or Special Offers & Packages. Yurt and RV Rental reservations are not eligible for “RAIN CHECKS” at any time.

No. Once you pay the parking fee to enter the Park, you will be given a dated voucher for the windshield of your vehicle that will give you unlimited access to enter and leave the Park as often as you like during your stay.

Cats and Dogs only are allowed, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pet and dispose of pet waste properly.

Pricing is based on occupancy of five (5) Guests on all sites. Additional guests are $5.00 per person/per night on red, purple, orange & blue RV sites - maximum 8 people total. Additional guests are $5.00 per person/per night on yellow & brown tent/popup sites - maximum 6 people total.

Yes. However, if you intend on having guests visit you during your stay, these guests MUST register at the Campground Office before proceeding to your campsite. Guests will be required to provide their name, address and phone number. Guests are not permitted to stay overnight and must leave the campground by 10:00 PM.

Stone Mountain Family Campground does not permit alcohol at any campsite.

Swimming is not permitted in the lake. Swimming is only allowed at the Campground pool, lifeguard not on duty. Please read safety information posted at the swimming pool.

Yes. We have washers and dryers available for use. We have soft water. Please do not overload automatic washers with soap. Small packages of soap and bleach are available at the Campground General Store.

Camping in automobiles is strictly prohibited. Pick-up campers must remain on the pick-up truck. Tents are allowed on tent sites only. Set-up of tents is allowed on pads located in each tent site.

Yes. Georgia law requires that bicycle riders 15 years of age and younger must wear a helmet when riding.
