Playing the Past Event—May 4, 2019
Travel back in time and experience what life was like for girls in the 1800's at the Historic Square and Gardens. During this special event, Scouts can participate in hands on activities from the 19th century, including gardening, making your own butter and creating your own doll! Take a self-guided tour of the Historic Square to research your character. Experience an old-fashioned recess and learn to play the games of graces, hoop and stick, jacks and marbles. No trip throughout time is complete without the right look, so you will get a chance to dress like a real lady of the period.
This program is designed to help Juniors work toward their skill building Playing the Past badge. Juniors that participate in all activities, as well as tour the Historic Square, will complete all steps to earn her Playing the Past badge. The Playing the Past badge is NOT included, but all participants will receive a Stone Mountain Park Playing the Past patch.
Historic Square opens at 11am and these special programs will run from 1pm – 5pm. An All-Attractions Pass or Mountain Membership is required.
