Audition Process

For our Spring and Summer seasons:

Actors and Actresses

Male/Female, Improv actors to portray adventurers in a 25 minute show based around improv games. Actors who are comfortable interacting with crowds.  Actors in this show can expect to get wet during every performance

Storytellers, Male/Female, who communicate well with children.  Ability to engage youngsters and keep stories exciting is a must.

Mascot performers, Male/Female.  Mascot experience is not required, but ability to express emotion through body movement is desired. These are non-speaking roles, and the performer is fully covered, including head, face, and hands.

HOW TO PREPARE:

If you are capable of more than one of these talents, you may prepare multiple audition pieces.  Please wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable to move in.

Actors and Storytellers, please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue suitable for family entertainment.

Ushers, Hosts, and Mascots, please prepare a 30-second introduction of yourself, and you will be given a side to read at the audition. 

 

For our Fall and Winter seasons:

Actors and Actresses for A Christmas Carol, a rollicking comedy/parody.  Male and female, all ages and body types. 

Singers and Dancers: All Singers and Dancers should be young adults both female and male with high energy and outgoing friendly personalities. Our shows include, but are not limited to these types of performances: strong pop vocals, strong dance techniques, character voices, improve skills including strong theatrical acting skills.

Actresses: Must be comfortable with one on one guest interaction to portray our Snow Angel.  Must not be afraid of heights.  Female, young adult, fit body type.  Due to weight restrictions with the flight system, all actresses considered for this roll will be weighed at auditions.

Tin Soldiers: to “guard” the Snow Angel, marchers with great smiles who enjoy the company of children. Must be able to march in time. Male, young adult, fit body types.

Storytellers: to play Mrs. Claus, Elves, Candy, and Townspeople in The Gift.  Male and female, all ages, all body types.

Character Mascots: to greet our guests with a friendly smile and participate in our nightly parade.  Mascots are fully costumed Christmas characters.  Mascots must be able to stand and dance for long periods of time in a full body costume. Male and female, all ages and body types.

HOW TO PREPARE:

If you are capable of more than one of these talents, you may prepare multiple audition pieces.

Singers and Singer/Dancers, please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows your vocal ability. Pop, musical theater and holiday music is preferred.  Bring sheet music in your key for the accompanist.  No a cappella or pre-recorded accompaniment allowed.   

Actors and Storytellers, please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue suitable for family entertainment.
