Employment: Audition Requirements

You must schedule an appointment. Appointments can be made starting August 3rd. To schedule an appointment, please e-mail audition@stonemountainpark.com or call Sara Holton at 770.498.5681. Please bring in hand a headshot/resume to the audition. We ask that you arrive 20 minutes early for your scheduled time.  All applicants must be age 16 or older at time of auditions. All schedule conflicts must be provided when you audition.

SCHEDULE:

Please review the following schedule and come to auditions prepared to provide any and all conflicts with rehearsals or performances. (Attractions Hosts are exempt from this requirement.)

For the Fall Season, Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival, rehearsals will begin as early as the week of September 20th. Performances will run during the daytime Friday through Sunday from September 30th – October 30th.

For the Christmas Season, A Stone Mountain Park Christmas, rehearsals will begin as early as October 11th.  Performances will run afternoons and evenings November 12th - December 31st. There are some weekday performances. There are performances on November 24th (Thanksgiving Day). There are NOT performances on December 24th or 25th (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

SEEKING:

ACTORS and ACTRESSES for A Crossroads Christmas Carol, a rollicking comedy/parody.  Male and female, all ages and body types. 

SINGER/DANCERS for Simply Christmas, a musical revue featuring strong pop vocalists with strong dance technique.  Male and female, young adult, fit body types.

SINGER/DANCERS for a new children’s Christmas show with high energy performers.  Character voices encouraged.  Male and female, all ages and body types.

Singers for Holly Jolly Cabaret, with strong acting / improv skills and audience friendly outgoing personalities.   Male and female, all ages and body types.

PIANISTS for Holly Jolly Cabaret, with professional level musicianship and audience friendly outgoing personalities.   Male and female, all ages and body types.

PERCUSSIONISTS for The Changing of the Guard, with experience in drum line.  Male and female, all ages and body types.

ACTRESSES comfortable with one on one guest interaction to portray our Snow Angel.  Must not be afraid of heights.  Female, young adult, fit body type.  Due to weight restrictions with the flight system, all actresses considered for this roll will be weighed at auditions.

TIN SOLDIERS to “guard” the Snow Angel, marchers with bright smiles who enjoy the company of children.  Male, young adult, fit body types.

STORYTELLERS to play Mrs. Claus, Grandma and Grandpa.  Male and female, 40+, all body types.

CHARACTER MASCOTS, HOSTS and USHERS to greet our guests with a friendly smile and participate in our nightly parade.  Mascots are fully costumed Christmas characters.  Male and female, all ages and body types. We will not be casting Santa Claus at this time.

HOW TO PREPARE:

If you are capable of more than one of these talents, you may prepare multiple audition pieces.

Singers and Singer/Dancers, please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows your vocal ability. Pop, musical theater and holiday music is preferred.  Bring sheet music in your key for the accompanist.  No a cappella or pre-recorded accompaniment allowed.  

Actors and Storytellers, please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue suitable for family entertainment.

Pianists, please prepare 2 minutes of a solo performance including a fun introduction of yourself and the piece to the audience. Holiday or family-fun music is appreciated. A piano will be provided.  You may be asked to sight read a piano piece.

Percussionists, please prepare 2 minutes of a military-type cadence on snare which includes fancy stick work. Snare Drum will be provided when you arrive at the audition. You may be asked to march in time while you play.

Ushers, Hosts, and Mascots, please prepare a 30-second introduction of yourself in which you invite the audience to come and see the "Grand Tree Lighting at Stone Mountain Park Christmas!" You may be briefly interviewed or asked to read a show introduction.

Tin Soldiers, please prepare a 30-second introduction of yourself in which you invite the audience to come and see the Snow Angel. You will be asked to march in place.

 

It is not necessary to fill out an online application prior to your audition.
